HANOI – Vietnamese police arrested three men and one woman on charges of human smuggling to China and sell their kidneys.

A total of three male suspects had previously also sell their own kidneys in China, while the female suspect was also detained on charges of human smuggling.

The four suspects were eventually also indicted on charges of organizing the Vietnamese to flee from his country. They were sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The suspect also reportedly smuggled the 19 residents of Vietnam to China to sell their kidneys since 2009. Similarly, as reported by the Associated Press on Wednesday (10/08/2011).

Each kidney is sold at a price of USD2.500 or approximately USD2.000 up to Rp17 million to Rp21 million. Currently, prosecutors had been working in the case of the trial of suspects. The sale of organs to be one of the acts prohibited in Vietnam
