A former Taliban fighter to put the bullets before handing it over to Afghan authorities, as part of a peaceful reconciliation program in Herat, west of Kabul, Tuesday (28/12).

LONDON, UK Ministry of Defence on Monday (08/08/2011), states are investigating allegations that aBritish soldier stationed in Afghanistan have a habit of cutting the fingers Taliban insurgents who have killed and kept as souvenirs.

According to tabloid The Sun, the soldiers were from the infantry battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland. He started that habit when deployed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, one of the most conflict-prone regions in the country.

” It seems he had cut off the fingers of a dead Taliban fighters. There are rumors that he also wanted to keep (cut fingers) as souvenirs, so scary, “ said a source quoted by the tabloid.

Details the soldier’s name and age were not disclosed. Just mentioned, the soldier had returned to England earlier this year. Assignment to Afghanistan was the first combat mission, and suspected he started the hobby it’s scary because it triggered the stress.

Currently he is the Special Investigation Branch investigation unit in the British Army. “We know there are these allegations and we are investigating,” said Defense Ministry spokesman.

Britain is sending about 9,500 soldiers to Afghanistan, as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), which exist in the country to fight Taliban insurgents.
